Change

As not every shop or commercial locals accept foreign currency, we recommend you to exchange currency in banks or money exchanges houses. You will find these exchanges houses in the Santiago Airport, around your Hotel or near of the Congress Venue in Ahumada and Huérfanos streets. We also highly recommend you to not exchange currency with natural people on the streets or late in the afternoon, except if this is done in the exchange houses of commercial malls like Mall Parque Arauco or Mall Alto Las Condes.

Nowadays, the exchange rate is USD 1.00 = $ 630 Chilean pesos (January 8th, 2009)
